I haven’t been around here in awhile, but for certain reasons. There has been a lot going on in my life that I’m really not ready to talk about yet. My life has been turned upside down and all I can do is take it day by day and pray that God gives me the strength to push on. For now I’m going to say goodbye to blogging. It’s just not a good time in my life right now and I need to take some time for myself. I am hoping to be back eventually, but for now it’s goodbye. I will continue to keep up with everyone else. I just won’t be posting here anymore. To everyone who has stuck around the last couple of years through my spuratic blogging, thank you. I appreciate all the comments and words of advice. Hopefully, I’ll see you back in blogland someday :)
Hello blog friends. Just wanted everyone to know that today is a very special day. A day that has been a long time coming. Seven years as a matter of fact. Today I will be heading to Lexington where my husband will walk across a stage in front of friends and family to accept his diploma and become Dr. Dustin Salyer, PharmD. How cool is that? Words cannot express how incredibly proud of him I am. He has worked so hard to get to this day and it’s finally arrived. When we first got married and moved to Lexington this day seemed like it would never get here and now it is.
I think that these first three years of marriage are just the beginning to a wonderful life we are going to have. There were some pretty rough times here and there, but we always managed to pull through them. We have grown so much as a couple. There were questions of if we should wait until after he graduated to get married, but I know in my heart we made the right decision. Even if sometimes we wanted to strangle each other! Everything has fallen into place for us and I’m so thankful. God has truly blessed us.
After he graduates we plan to do some traveling. That hasn’t been an easy task with him being a student and only having one income. It will be nice to go a few different places before we decide to settle down and start a family. Children are definitely in our plans, but I’ve come to realize that when it’s the right time for us, God will answer our prayers. Everything is right in the world and I couldn’t be any happier.
So, to my husband…I love you more than words can express and I’m so proud of you. You are an amazing, intelligent and wonderful person. Enjoy this day because you have worked hard to get here.
Pictures to come of the ceremony!
This past weekend I drove to Lexington to see my friend Emily and her new baby boy. It turned out to be a great weekend. Free from the drama that is my household. It’s just always so loud here with all my family staying with me so to get away for a few days was nice. We didn’t do much, which is just what I needed. We watched tv and movies, did a little shopping and played with a very cute, squishy baby. The only downfall of the weekend was that when I returned home on Monday I started feeling really bad. Her husband was getting over the flu or something like the flu. I just figured he was past the contagious stage, so I made the trip anyway. Tuesday morning I woke up with a fever and body aches so bad I was in tears. I’ve been sick all week long. I’ve missed work all week, and usually I wouldn’t mind but I will take work any day compared to the flu. Even though I got sick out of the trip it was so nice seeing my friends and sweet baby Sam. How about some pictures of Sammy? Baby pictures are the best, right?
Mommy and Sam
He loves bathtime. He was quite fussy due to sickness this weekend but he was so happy in his bath.
Cuteness :) (the baby I mean)
Yeah sorry about the lines through all the pictures. I think my camera has seen it’s last days. It’s lived a good life. It even survived drowning in the lake. I think that will have to be our next purchase. I’m trying to post more. At LEAST once a week. So hopefully you’ll see another one next week.
Hellloooooo! Is anybody out there? Probably not, seeing as though I’ve been away from blog land for well…EVER! The only reason I’m really posting today is because I’m out of work today. Because of the economy, they are cutting our hours back at work, so I’ll have a little more more off than usual. Unfortunately. Right now I am the only income so it should make it pretty rough for the next few months. Thankfully, Dustin graduates in a little over two months so it won’t be for long. He’ll soon be able to work and bring home a paycheck! I can hear the angels singing “HALLELUJAH!” Life has been great here. I think I’ve just been in my winter slumber with the whole blogging thing. Nothing much happens in the winter time so I’d rather not bore everyone with my daily routine which is work, clean, sleep, work, clean and sleep…Not fun right?
There is really not that much to update you on. There’s the puppies. They are doing great. Getting big and taking up too much space in my house. They are pretty much trained and are almost out of their puppy stage. Thank God. Also, have I mentioned I have a houseful? You all knew my little sister is living with me. She’s working and hopefully starting Cosmetology school shortly. I also have my parents living here now with their dog. So let’s see, that makes five people, three dogs and a cat all living in my house. It’s pretty stressful, I won’t lie. My mom has found a job here and started on Monday and hopefully my step-dad will find one soon. They will only be here a few months so I am just rolling with the punches. We do anything for our family’s, right? What’s that saying…When life gives you lemons make lemonade?
Bowling Green is awesome. We absolutely love it here. We’ve got a group of amazing friends and have found a church that we love. We lived in Lexington for three years and never really settled into a church, but here it’s only taken a few months. I’m really happy with where we are at in our lives. I do however miss my friends back in Lexington. It’s hard establishing a life somewhere and then picking up and moving away from it. We have been up there once to visit, and hopefully will visit again soon. I thought though when I moved closer to home that I would see all my family and friends all the time, but that hasn’t really happened yet. It probably has a lot to do with winter and nobody wanting to travel and get out in the cold. I know I need to make more time to visit Nashville on the weekends to visit. I’m sure it’ll get better as it warms up. I hate winter, it’s soooo boring. I’m ready for sunshine, margaritas, patios, tanning, the lake, fishing, camping, grilling..oh I could just go on and on.
Just bare with me. I love writing here, but it’s just hard with everything that is going on. My house is caaarazy! By the way January made three years having this blog. I’m pretty proud of that. Well wait…three years, minus all the months of disappearing. I never stick with anything so I’m glad this has lasted as long as it has. I may be very spuratic in my posts but I’m STILL HERE! :) So if there is anyone still out there thats reads this blog, thanks for hanging in there with me. I apoligize for leaving you hanging for months, but I’m still here. Now, enjoy some pictures of what’s been happening in my life.
There was Christmas. Oh! Cute puppies.
They are HUGE.
Christmas morning with my sister.
Night out with friends.
Me and Erin. One of the coolest girls I’ve ever met. We met through work, and are no inseparable. Thank God for her. If she wasn’t here Bowling Green would be so lame.
My best friend Jayme came from Michigan to visit in November. We were waiting for Twilight to start (best movie ever by the way).
This was our view….
Allow me to zoom it in for you.
Oh yes, that is a shiny snake skinned shirt he’s wearing. It blinded me the WHOLE MOVIE! Nice.
Yep and that has pretty much been my life the last few months. Nothing special or exciting. Just life in Bowling Green. I miss you guys and I swear I’m still reading your blogs, I’m just lurking. I will comment more I swear!
I know I’ve been MIA for, well forever now. My spuratic posts are probably driving you crazy and I apoligize. There just really isn’t anything all that exciting going on right now. Besides work, taking care of two hyper dogs, cleaning and trying to find some time for friends and sleep there is really nothing else. Dustin is currrently still in his Madisonville rotation and won’t be done until next week. It’s been pretty hard not having him here during the week. The weekends fly by and we don’t get to see each other very much. It’s all going to pay off in May though. He’ll be a pharmacist soon enough! I’m loving my new house and I never thought I would love Bowling Green so much. It’s the perfect place for us. We’ve made some friends which is awesome. I honestly thought it would take awhile to meet new people, but it happened pretty fast. There is a girl I work with that is my age and JUST like me. We have so much in common. It was destiny that we became friends!
No big plans or events coming up besides Thanksgiving. I plan on cooking a huge meal. Hopefully, it turns out good :) I consider myself a pretty good cook. Let’s cross our fingers other people think so too! I know I’m only blogging every couple of weeks, but just bare with me. I’m still getting in the hang of living here and will try my best to post more. Just hang in there and I’ll try to post more often. I don’t want to bore everyone with random posts and nothing of importance so as soon as something interesting happens I’ll post again!
Oh, by the way. My friend Emily had her baby! He’s so precious. Go check her blog out to meet little Sam. Congrats to Emily and Jon on a beautiful, healthy baby boy. Can’t wait to come visit you guys. Give him kisses for me!
I threw a Halloween party at my house last weekend and it turned out better than expected. I honestly thought I’d end up having like 5 people show up and it would be a flop, but I was wrong. There were a total of 17 people. A pretty good turn out to be in a new town and not really knowing very many people. I made lots of yummy food, that got devoured. Good food-good people-good times. My younger sister and I tried to create an Alice in Wonderland theme, but we ended up being the only two people who decided to go that route. Everyone knew Leeha was Alice, but not a single person knew I was The Mad Hatter until I told them. What a waste of money…I thought that other people would jump in and join us in our theme. I was dying for somebody to be Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. It would have been ahhsome. I also wanted someone to be the Queen of Hearts, and I was denied by everyone I mentioned it to. Needless to say, the Alice in Wonderland theme wasn’t such a genius idea. Oh well. I felt like the Mad Hatter, so that is all that matters. How about you judge it for yourself…
The Mad Hatter and Alice. We THOUGHT it was a good idea when we bought the costumes ok…
Hello Clarice…. :0)
Me and my rocker stepdad.
It’s a Dog the Bounty Hunter sandwich. That’s Alice squeezed between Leland and Dog.
Me and Dog’s wife, Beth. If you’ve never watched Dog the Bounty Hunter then you have no idea how awesome these costumes were!
Pretty fantastic night. I got to see a friend from highschool that I hadn’t seen since graduation (she’s in the above photo) and spend a great night with my family and tons of friends. Couldn’t have asked for a better Halloween!
Yeah, I’ve totally been mia for FOREVER. Things have just been crazy around here. Non stop in my neck of the woods. I’ve got tons of pictures and whatnot but I won’t overwelm you today. I’ll just post a few. So far things in Bowling Green are going great. I started my job and it’s going really well. Crazy enough I do miss my old job. Maybe not the job party so much, but sitting at my very own desk and reading blogs all day. Having a job where I can’t get on the internet is hard. I’m seriously having Gmail chat withdrawls. Hopefully once things slow down I’ll be able to blog more often. I haven’t even had the time to read everyone elses blogs. I’m way behind. All I do is work, take care of these two crazy dogs, cook and clean. Right now Dustin is currently an hour and a half away doing a pharmacy rotation. He’ll be gone for a month and will only be able to come home on the weekends. It’s really hard not having him here. I realize how much of a huge help he is when he’s gone. I really miss him and can only hope that this month goes by really fast.
In the past few weeks we’ve had a lot going on. Dustin’s mom and brother came in for a weekend to see the new house and visit. We ended up going to The Lost River Cave and took one of their tours. It was really neat and ended up having a great weekend overall. The weekend after that, my sister drove in from Indianapolis with her two kids for a weekend visit. My neice and nephew are growing up so fast. I wish they lived closer so I could see them more often. So, the weekend after that we helped my mom and stepdad move. They are going to be looking for a place in Bowling Green, which I’m so excited about. After moving them and working my new job I’m absolutely exhausted. Hopefully this weekend I can just lounge around and catch up on some blog reading. I’m looking forward to a very chilled out weekend. It’s overdue.
Some pictures to catch you up…
Me and my mother in law standing in the lost river cave.
Dustin’s mom and brother. We were riding in a boat inside a cave. It was awesome. That is until the cave got smaller and smaller and it got so low that we had to duck our heads between our legs. It was a little bit nervewracking and I thought I was going to hypervenilate.
This was the weekend my sister came to visit. My sisters are crazy.
Cutest baby ever!
My neice, who was very proud of her carved pumpkins.
I also have tons of pictures of the Halloween party I threw this past weekend, but I’ll save those for another post. Sorry I’ve been gone so long, I promise to TRY to post more :)
You know you’re singing it in your head, don’t deny it.
So funny story about last night. Thought I should share it with you. My sister and I watched a movie last night (Maid of Honor, boring by the way) and at around 11:45 headed to bed. I tossed and turned and couldn’t seem to fall asleep due to Dustin’s snoring, but somehow I eventually started dozing off. Still not in a sound sleep, I was awoken by the sound of a party happening right out side my window. Well it seemed that close anyway. I layed there trying to ignore the yelling and drunken talk/cursing. After an hour I just couldn’t take it anymore. I got out of bed, grabbed my pillow and decided to head for the couch thinking maybe that would be a quieter place to sleep. Walking down the hallway, I noticed my little sisters bedroom light was on (at 1:30 in the morning, weird), so I cracked open the door and she was laying in her bed unable to sleep as well. She asked me what the noise was and I told her it sounded like we were living in an apartment complex, because the party seemed like it was right next door. We walked out onto the back porch to find that the party was coming from about six or seven hundred feet away from my house. Not even on the same road that we live on. There were about 20 young people piled onto a tiny deck on the back of a neighbor townhouse. Not only were there the 20 or so outside but at least 20 others inside. We sat down at my patio table and could hear their entire conversations from forever away. I picked up my cell phone and decided to be the crabby old neighbor and call the cops. They quickly responded to the call, and in less than five minutes several cop cars pulled up to the townhouse (nice to know our police department is on top of things). As soon as the cops were inside, two young guys bolted from the back door. Underage drinkers I assume. The ran so fast they were at my property line in no time. They didn’t see us sitting on my patio and I swear they were about to hop my fence before I shouted at them. “Excuse me but you can get off my property, please!” I think I scared the bejeepers out of them. They responded with a “Yes Mam” and ran the opposite way. After a few minutes there were at least 4 cop cars in front of the townhouse breaking up the party. People just kept pouring out of the front door. I couldn’t believe how many people were in that tiny little townhouse. The whole time this is going on, my sister and I are just sitting there laughing hysterically. “Oh, snap! We totally just crashed their party!”
Here’s the thing. I remember my wild party days when I lived in my very first apartment, but we at least had the respect to quiet our guests if it got to rowdy. It’s uncalled for to be so loud that I can hear your whole conversation two house lengths away, through my bedroom walls. Rude is the word I think I’m looking for. I know I’m only 22 years old and this kind of thing shouldn’t bother me, but when you have jobs and responsibilities you want to be able to sleep peacefully at night. After all the drama I returned to my bedroom layed down in my cozy bed to fall into a deep sleep. I just don’t think it was meant to be though. As soon as I closed my eyes, not only did Dustin start snoring again, but SO DID THE DOGS….GO FIGURE.
*Update by the way*
Went to my new job this morning to meet with my new boss so that he could introduce me to everyone. I was very pleased. I really think I’m going to be happy here. Everyone seemed really nice. For some reason I was thinking that I didn’t start until Wednesday but I was mistaken. I start on Monday! I’m ready to get out of the house because I’m getting bored, but I don’t know if I’m ready to start working either. It snuck up on me! We’ll see how it goes. Wish me luck.
For now, I’m going to watch my husband and his brother play Madden ’09. Bore me…Will post again after I start my job on Monday to let you know how it goes!
What a day it has been. I’m literally going to pull my hair out. So the story goes that it rained all day today which meant no going outside for the dogs until after the rain stopped. After the rain cleared up, I waited about an hour before I let the dogs out to potty. I figured an hour would be long enough for the grass to somewhat dry. I let them out and came back into the house to finish up a load of laundry and about fifteen minutes later I check on them. Sooooo the grass wasn’t dry. Not only were they soaked from where they had rolled in the water, but they were also digging a GINORMOUS hole in the mulch landscaping. THEY WERE FILTHY! I swear you could have seen steam come out of my ears. I immediately ran in the house and started some bath water (this is their third bath in A WEEK by the way). Dustin and I threw them in the water and scrubbed scrubbed scrubbed. Dirty is not even the word for the water. We didn’t just have to bath them once, we had to bathe them TWICE to get all the dirt and mulch off of them. Would you like to see it in pictures? Well I’m going to show you. This is what I’m dealing with everyday. It’s stressing me out to no end…
First bath water…
Second Bath Water…
And after their bath…
It’s hard to believe that these angels could be so naughty.
I’m pretty sure we’re buying crates immediately. I think crate training will be our only hope. Wish us luck!
Well, I’m not exactly sure how it happened but we’ve added yet another addition to our family. See, what happened was when we bought Bailey from my cousin, she had two other dogs from the litter left. My older sister took one and we ended up getting Bailey. We were at my cousins house this weekend and decided we’de just take a peek at the last dog that was left (bad idea) and maybe let him and Bailey play for a bit. We felt really bad when we realized that they loved each other. We went back into the house to watch some football, had some dinner and it came time to head home. Before I know it, Dustin is carrying Bailey’s brother from the dog pen up to our car. So now we have two puppies in our house. All I can say is that it’s been a long two days. I thought it was hard taking care of one, but two is a whole different story. It also seems like Bailey has taken a step backward in obedience since the new puppy got here. She won’t listen to us like she had been. She has had several accidents in the house in the last few days. So, it’s extremely frustrating. She’s not as loving towards me and spends most of her time with her brother (which makes me kind of sad). We had to bathe two dogs tonight and that was a JOB. They are definitely keeping me on my toes. Just in the last week, with moving, running after a dog and constantly staying busy I’ve lost about six or seven pounds (not complaining about that though!). So, it seems as though our family has grown to four. I’m still really not happy about the whole situation and haven’t really fallen in love with the other puppy yet, but I’m sure I will. He doesn’t have a set name yet. We have two in mind, but neither one are sticking. What do you think? It’s between COLT or TUCKER. Personally, I like Colt the best but most my family doesn’t like it. It could be the fact that my family can’t stand the Indianapolis Colts. Dustin on the other hand LOVES the Colts. What’s your opinion? I’d love to know. So shall we take a looksy at the new addition?
Meet Colt/Tucker :o)
He is pretty cute…I can’t deny it.
One other thing that is taking some getting used to, is he is a lot bigger than Bailey. She was the runt and I’m so glad that she is a little dog. Now I have a second dog that is double her size.
But they love each other and it would break my heart to separate them…
More than likely I’m going to end up losing my mind, pulling all my hair out and cleaning up lots and lots of puppy poo, but it’ll be all worth it, right? RIGHT…
